The Dodge Charger to Add a New All-Wheel Drive Trim in 2019

The Dodge Charger has been the best-selling high-performance sedan for several years running. If you talked to Dodge-brand executives, it wouldn't be hard to put a finger on why.

"Charger is on track to lead the large car segment in the United States for the fifth straight year in 2018," said Steve Beahm, the head of passenger car brands at Dodge. "We [work to] keep that string alive by updating the product to deliver the performance and capability that our customers demand.”

One of the biggest demands that many sedans fail to fulfill? All-wheel drive. In 2019, however, the Dodge Charger will introduce a new trim option for the express purpose of giving drivers what they want.

The new SXT trim will come with all the same high-performance you'd expect from a Charger. This includes a Pentastar V6 engine capable of 300 horsepower and 264 pounds-feet of torque. On top of that, however, it will also offer drivers the benefits of all-wheel drive.

This favorite feature uses onboard computers to improve tire traction and performance in rough weather and tough terrain. For people driving in harsher climates, it can be an essential tool that transforms a great car like the Charger into the right car for their lives.
