Jeep 4xe Models

Jeep Wrangler 4xe

The plug-in hybrid version of an all-American classic, the Jeep Wrangler 4xe defies all expectations. Equipped with a 2.0-liter DOHC DI Turbo I4 engine, it produces 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. The electric components are protected to retain water fording capabilities up to 31.5 inches.

Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is more capable than ever with the help of two electric motors that boosts power and performance. Capable of towing up to 6,000 pounds, the Jeep Grand Cherokee is a rugged SUV that produces 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. You can go up to 25 miles purely electric for a combined fuel efficiency of 56mpg.

ELECTRIC MODE

Electric Mode allows for nearly zero tailpipe emissions up to highway speeds. The Wrangler 4xe can run on this mode for a distance of up to 21( Disclosure4) total miles on a full charge.

HYBRID MODE

The default Hybrid Mode combines torque from both the PHEV powertrain with 2.0L DOHC DI Turbo I4 engine and the electric motor. This combination provides maximum horsepower, instant torque and thrilling acceleration. In this mode, electric power is consumed first.

ESAVE MODE

eSave Mode prioritizes the 2.0L engine, saving battery charge for later use. When power demand is low, the engine shuts off. It can also be reconfigured to increase the battery charge as well.

REGENERATIVE BRAKING

This feature allows the battery to be charged when decelerating and braking. The Max Regeneration feature remaps the accelerator pedal to command more aggressive regeneration at low pedal positions. It allows you to slow the vehicle down without the brake pedal, but a complete stop always requires the brake pedal. It also stays selected until you turn it off.

RECHARGE

The battery can be fully charged in approximately 2 hours using an available Level II charger( Disclosure5) (240V), or 12 hours using the included Level I charger (120V). With the ability to charge at home and work, you can enjoy the benefits of fully electric daily commutes.

How Jeep Plug-in Hybrids Work

Jeep 4xe Plug-in Hybrids are powered by a conventional gas engine that is paired with one or two electric motors. The electric engine provides a boost in power that increases the overall capabilities while adding the benefit of fuel efficiency and an electric-only driving range. PHEVs like the Jeep Wrangler 4xe and Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe need to be plugged in to recharge the battery for the electric motor. The vehicle runs off the gas engine when the electric motor's battery runs out of power. Different drive modes are available, so you can choose when and how the electric motors take over to provide a boost or take over full powertrain functions. You can recharge Jeep 4xe models by plugging them into a regular wall outlet in your home or at a public charging station with the included cable.
